F.A.Q.'S

(Frequently Asked Questions)

1)   Is M.A.C.K. fest a Whitewater Ontario event?

-     Yes.  M.A.C.K. fest is completely a Whitewater Ontario festival.  All proceeds generated at the festival go back to the Whitewater community or back into M.A.C.K. fest 2011.

2)      Where is Marmora?

-         Marmora is located on the Trans Canada Hwy #7.  It is in the heart of Hastings County, north of Belleville.  It is 2.0 hours from Toronto, 2.5 hours from Ottawa and 1.5 hours from Kingston.

3)      Where is the Festival being held?

-         The festival will be held downtown Marmora at the Marmora Hall nouth of Hwy#7 same spot as the last 2 years.  Camping and event tent will be located in Fairgrounds behind the arena approx 3 blocks north of the hall.

4)      What is the Festival about?

-         The festival has several benefits.  M.A.C.K.FEST will help promote the great resource of rivers in the area, and help increase the community of whitewater paddlers.  It will bring an added benefit of commerce to the area of Marmora and a greater sense of community.  As well as being a great paddling party.

5)      Is anyone able to attend the Festival?

-         Yes.  Although the festival is geared towards whitewater kayakers and canoer’s, we would love to see as many people out to the evening festivities and events.  The idea is to have a central location where people can come on Saturday evening to enjoy themselves as well as meet new people.

6)      I don’t kayak is there somewhere I can watch?

-         There are a few locations that offer good viewing opportunities of the paddlers.  The Crowe Bridge will be a perfect viewing location for spectator's.  Another is the Bridge Drop at Beaver Creek.  Both can be located with maps that are supplied at the festival.

7)      Is there camping and / or car camping?

-        Yes, there will be camping offered again this year 2010, however at a small cost of $5.00 per person for the weekend.  This revenue will go to Marmora Medial Fundraising Campaign.  There is still plenty of motels and B&B's for those not wanting to camp.  Please see the accommodation tab for directions and more information.

8)      I would like to kayak some of the rivers but would feel more comfortable paddling with experienced paddlers.  Will there be an opportunity to do this?

-         There will be an informal meet and greet Saturday morning at the Marmora Fair Grounds (M.A.C.K. fest camping area)  Look for the large event tent..  This is a good spot to meet up with fellow paddlers, as well as get directions and up-to-date river levels.  This will be organized with river signs at the Fair Grounds. This is a informal meeting place for paddlers to meet up with local paddlers that are willing to share the river knowledge.

9)      I would like to get involved either by volunteering or by sponsoring the event, how can I do that?

 -         Yes, there are several way people and businesses can help out.  Please contact Cale Reeder at 705-654-4106 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
